A note on operating systems:

As of fall 2025, Microsoft will discontinue support for Microsoft 10. From April 1 2025 onward, BC Tech will only be able to deploy Windows 11 and Microsoft Office on Plus level equipment.

We offers two operating system and office software options for devices that are not compatible with Windows 11. The options are as follows:

-Zorin OS - Only compatible with LibreOffice.
-Chrome OS Flex - Only compatible with Google apps such as Docs and Sheets. This operating system requires a Google Account for set-up and sign on, and the computer must be connected to the internet to use most features.

Will you be requesting Microsoft Office?

Eligibility for Microsoft Office:

BC Technology for Learning Society is a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher. As a participant in this program, we are able to provide Windows and Office activation licenses to eligible parties.

According to Microsoft, Office guidelines for the program are that:

Computers with Microsoft Office installed must be redistributed to individuals eligible for the Technology Access Program. We are not able to accommodate any requests for Microsoft Office where it will be used internally at the non-profit or library. All computers must go to an eligible client’s home. Non-profits may instead access or request Microsoft Office at: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/nonprofits/eligibility</a >, or use free Office Web Apps at www.office.com.

Please note: Microsoft Office is only available for Plus Package Equipment with Windows 11.

If you would like to pick up your requested equipment, you may do so from our warehouse located in Burnaby:

Shipping fees will apply to all orders not picked up from our Burnaby warehouse.

Shipping Fees:

1 Box = $30 Max Fee
2 Boxes = $60 Max Fee
Pallet = $100 Max Fee

Boxes are shipped via Canada Post.
Pallets are shipped via either Van Kam or Eeko Couriers.

Please note: Orders larger than 2 boxes will be shipped on a pallet to save costs.

While BC Technology for Learning Society is committed to providing functioning equipment, any subsequent liabilities or repairs are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

Warranty:

Our 3-month warranty includes machine hardware, software and peripherals provided as part of the placed order. (e.g. hardware damaged during shipping)

Our warranty does not include: "AS-IS" equipment, laptop batteries or battery lifespan, physical damage incurred after successful shipment, water damage, and software-related issues outside what is expected from a computer reseller. (e.g. program compatibility, drivers after reinstall or upgrade, virus infections, or failure to perform routine maintenance, etc.). Our warranty does not apply to the aesthetics or age of the computer or laptop.

I acknowledge that submitting this request does not guarantee available inventory levels, nor that my organization is automatically qualified. All prices displayed above are for estimation purposes only and are by no means to be considered an invoice.

Expected Process for Payment & Shipping:

We will respond to your application within 5 business days of your submission once we have verified your eligibility. If you are eligible, we will contact you to arrange for payment. We accept E-transfer, or credit card (MasterCard/Visa) over the phone. We cannot process debit or debit-credit cards unless you visit our workshop in person. E-Transfer is our preferred method of payment. Shipping is usually done within 2 weeks of payment as we custom build each item, and delivery via Canada Post can add another week.
